Not for pigs but what is keeping them away. I had a idea what was happening. Sat last night till 11:00. Feeder did sling corn and one deer showed up but did not stay long. Went to the feeder and looked, the ground was covered with cut ants! They don't sting but have a nasty bite. Even pigs won't mess with as many as were there! I trailed for a ways but with no poison or flagging, I quit. went back this morning and they were gone. Two lights, a can of Acephate and flagging, I'll powder back to their hole and mark it. In the morning I'll mix some Acephate with a gallon of water and pour it down the hole! I looked for the main colony this morning but its just too thick. I'll spray down with Off cause this place is known for seed ticks and red bugs!! Maybe then I will have a pig story at my place soon!

Those devils moved in here a couple years ago, and we keep fighting a losing battle against them. They have HUGE colonies all over the place. They'll strip a tree overnight and really seem to like the crepe myrtles in the yard.

Acephate is the best that I have found and I use it to control the fire ant infestations on our property, but since no neighbors poison the ants, they return soon and Get another Acephate meal.

Last year I used some Ortho Home Defense
spray to knock a few hills of red ants
around the neighbor hood.

Couple hours I couldn't find any live.
Hills have been dead since. Jug says:
"it'll work for a year". Was $12 for I think
5 qts at Lowe's. OF course I don't have a big
acerage like you guys do. I'd sure give it a
try to find a source for cheaper in larger qty.
I'd bet the local coop would have it.

I'd never heard of it til the girl next door
used some on a big hill in the back yard the
former owner let go.

I don't know what's in it. Print is too small
for me to read.

Far as chiggers go. When I first started trucking in Tx and down south another driver
told me to sprinkle some diesel on my boots
and they'd never bother me. Sure worked wonders.

Good luck,
George

I got a bunch last night! Poured Acephate and water down the hole this morning, that will slow em down. I walked around looking for the main colony but could not find it. Cows have been making trails through the thick stuff helping. I did find two more pig skulls. One I knew about, one I did not! I don't know it kills cut ants or just make them move but I have been using "Extinguish" Plus on them. It takes a long time to work but I have wiped out some large colonies on the wife's place with it. I put it out for the red harvester ants and accidently got a cut ant mound!
