At noon today - 78 degrees
2pm - 26 degrees

Crazy weather....but it got the hogs moving!

Ended up getting 6 hogs this afternoon. 2 boars, 2 sows, a piglet, and another I will I.D. In the morning. Truck said 16deg and it was 30+mph winds so I wasn't wanting to spend too much time walking tonight.

This was the first time I had seen this many hogs on this property. (Saw over 40). Also the first time I had made successful moving target hits. (216y trotting left to right sow-dropped) (152y walking left to right boar). Piglet was 195y, 2nd boar was 52y, #6 unknown was 60yards.

It is a good feeling when you have 30minutes left to hunt and are curious if you brought enough ammunition haha

Ruger #1B in .280 Remington
6-20x40 vxiii target dot
140gr Nosler solid base

We will see how the morning goes.

Good shooting it sounds like.
Gosh, I miss summer weather like that already!

Last night at midnight it was -22 (below!!)
Don't know what it got to, at 6am I was too groggy and unsteady on my feet, didn't want to take the chance of falling just to go look.

At 9am it was -12F, yes, 12 below zero. We had 5" of snow Friday too.

Enjoy it while it lasts.

George

Yikes George! 5" snow would hide a lot of critters I am shooting at rotflmo

I am still kicking myself in the butt for not purchasing all of the 300rum ammo I saw on the shelf at the Walmart in West Pueblo back in August.

Ended up shooting a coyote off of the 216y sow on Sunday. Love the "whop" the 280 puts on critters.

Justin:

IF you don't reload, I'd like the brass!
I had a .358 U/M built and need another hundred cases yet. Bought a bunch of unknown used stuff that some wouldn't work, then split necks on 47 others before I got the torch out! Costly mistake! Now I'm short.

Thanks,
George
