so out of the blue, i meet this nice fella at work, we get to talking and one thing leads to another and soon enough we were talking about hunting, he mentions that hes having a real problem with pigs comming up to the house block! so im like WHAT and turns out the guy runs a big station about 2hrs out of town. yea you gotta come out. he says. so i get a babysitter for the brats and get laurie, my brother keyed up. we got held up in town so didnt get down there till 2.30 and got the tour of the block he sends us down to a spot where theres a huge billabong, lots of sign, but nothing real fresh. so we decide to walk arround the billabong for a look. laurie decided to bring his new iac 12 guage lever action, i had the now go to marlin 30.30 winchester 150g power points and 32.5 grains of ar2208 gets it shooting real nice. so had a bunch shoved up the pipe. we were half way round the billabong when we finaly caught up with a small mob. a sow with 4 weaned piglets, and a boar, probably hanging round for the sow to come on again. now with a 20 inch barrel and ssgs laurie needed to get nice and cloce to be effective, so we creep up real quiet. we were not 15 mtrs from the mob when i point out to laurie that its his shot, as it will be the first pig with the new iac. he sets up on the sow the biggest of the mob, whilst i eye off the boar, he aims up and ........... nothing ....... the sow jumps and sets off the piglets they start running past the boar, so i decide to take the boar befor he leaves. boom..... then i sweep across to the left to pick up the sow, boom.... three pigs down, sorry three you say? yep i got a pass thru on the boar and droped a piglet that was running behind the boar. laurie asks " did you shoot 3 with 2 shots?" and i brag " yea i dont muck arround!!!!!" http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k292/greghud/336012.jpg then i quiz him on the sow and he had not cocked the hammer. ahahaahahahahahaahahaa. after sufficent teasing we set off after the escapees, it didnt take long to come accross them, one started to run back towards us! at about 10ft laurie got his first pig with the iac, at last........ and i stir him up about the size of him too!!!!! cant help myself. http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k292/greghud/336013.jpg we walk arround the rest of the billabong but there is still LOTS of water arround so the pigs are still quite spread out. needles to say no more pigs but i did 'stalk' this buff for a photo. http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k292/greghud/336018.jpg that was as close as i was game to go. it was hot and we were stuffed so we head back to the homestead, had some beers with the manager and head back home, with enthusiastic invite to return as soon as we can, maby for a barra too. very happy little hunters. greg

Gongrats on your successful hunt. I bet there will be some Barbequed pork in your near future. Out of curiosity what does IAC stand for and is it tube feed or a single shot? Swede --------------------------------------------------------- NRA Life Member
