What confidence do you place on the 6.5mm120gnTSX@2700 on hog?

Ie;What sort of shots would you confidently attempt and to what distance?

I don't have any experience with the 120 gr. TSX but I've taken quite few hogs with the 125 grain Nosler PT and the 129 grain Hornaday from my 6.5x55. I have complete confidence in this caliber on hogs of any size on any shot angle.
Hogs dont take much killing and the 6.5 calibers do what you need a bullet to do on a hog. They penetrate very well. I would think the TSX should be about perfect.

I use the 120 grain Sierra in my Swede on the hoggies and love it. 2700 FPS seems a bit mild though, I'm running mine around 2900.

Most of the hogs I have taken have been with various 6.5s, and most have fallen to various 140 grain projectiles launched at velocities in the 2650-2800 fps range. But the 120 grain TSX at 2700 should work well for you, and even with the modest velocity, you'll be packing 250 yards of positive hog-stopping power. My .308 WCF currently is running up quite an impressive string of 1-shot, instantaneous kills on hogs (most in nuisance control), and the load: would you believe a 150 grain Nosler BT at 2785 fps?

I'd believe it. I've shot quite a few hogs and whitetails with 150 gr BTs out of a .300 WM at about 3200 and all I get is bang/flop plus MOST of the time I get complete penetration on the hogs. I've killed two with one 150BT shot at least once. Anyone who is familiar with pigs knows their tissue/structure is fairly tough on bullet performance. I"m not a BT fanatic, maybe it's the 150s but they sure seem to work for me.
