I don't know which place you are talking about. I've hunted on Thunder Hills, which adjoins Nugest's property west of Jackson Michigan. I think he owns multiple properties.

Sorry about the double post. Doug Miller's place, where I have hunted twice, borders with Ted's.

Matt,

How was Thunder Ranch? I was on their site a little while ago and was thinking about trying them out. I would like to do a Boar hunt there, maybe next spring. Have you heard of County Line Game Ranch in Beaverton? Was thinking of trying them too.

Well, just returned from Nugent's place. Here are a few pictures. I will post some more info, when I get a chance.

The boar is at the butcher's now. The hams and tenderloin are being cured and smoked. The rest is sausage.

What caliber was that? Did it just take one shot?

The boar was taken with 1 shot from a 45-70 at about 40 yards while stalking. The round was a hand load with a 425 grn Leadhead bullet doing about 1550 fps.

Nugent offers a variety of hunting options depending on the hunters choices. They have tree blinds and ground blinds. You can hunt near a feeder or over bait. The cover is a mix between open fields and hard wood stands. I choose to stalk the boar. I saw a number of boar, some presented a shot, others were simply moving too quickly for a safe humane shot.

I found this 200 boar feeding by himself in some hard woods. I stalked him from about 125 yards away.

I look forward to going back there, perhaps early next year.
