I might be in Dallas around the first of March and wonder if there are decent places to hunt hogs in the area. Near SanAntonio there's a bunch, just don't know about Dallas.

Thanks!

I think most of Wendell's pigs have passed on.

There are some places both low and high-fenced depending on how far from Dallas you are prepared to drive.

texas has plenty of free roaming boars on it but if you only want to drive say 2hrs out of dallas camp cooley is a good place and they have plenty of free roaming hogs

on 13500 arcs of land the only thing resembling a fence is a three strand barb wire cattle fench that stops cows but not hogs.

the drss shoot/hunt was held here in august 2006 we had a great time. i shot a nice boar my self.

plenty of pigs to go around and alan is a good guy to deal with.

I have a friend that hunts the Black Locust ranch, just east of Dallas. He said they are too cheap. He is a long range shooter and he shoots from a bench set up at 800 yards from the corn feeder. You might check ot their website. www.wildlocustranch.com. He said they are very nice to deal with.

Numbnuts forgot that that Camp Cooley is about three hours outside of Dallas, hardley in the "Dallas area."

Buglemintoday,

I do bowhunt, but not much, rather use a rifle. Thanks very much though.

Three hours is a bit far, but we drive much farther for antelope/prairie dogs/deer in MT. I'd do it in a pinch.

Butch - I can't get the link to work but will do a Google search. EDIT - got it with blacklocustranch - thanks.

Thanks to everyone.

You might want to try some public land hunting. Both Lewisville Lake and Ray Roberts Lake have hunting areas and feral hogs. Call the Corps of Engineers office at 469-645-9100 for more detailed information.

If you are going to carry a big stick, you've got to whack someone with it at least every once in while.

We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't, Which purportedly covers at least ten million more people, without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that didn't read it but exempted themselves from it, and signed by a President, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, for which we'll be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect, by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke!!!!!
