Ted,
Were you hunting at Stone Creek? If so, how did you hunt - stalk or from a stand or..?

ALLEN W. JOHNSON - DRSS

Into my heart on air that kills
From yon far country blows:
What are those blue remembered hills,
What spires, what farms are those?
That is the land of lost content,
I see it shining plain,
The happy highways where I went
And cannot come again.

.45 cal Knight Disc Elite with a Hornady 200 grain sst over 120 grns. of Triple 7. Dist was about 30 yards. Shot him in the high left shoulder angleing down where I found the bullet just between the hide and ribs on the other side. Let out a squal like I've never heard but never could get to his feet. He has a 3" fresh cut through his right ear his lower left tusk is broken in half and he has NO left eye.

Ted,

That is a really nice hog. Those short rounded ears and the coloration sure do show alot of euro genes.

Was he a pure euro or a ferral cross?

I dont have any pics of his (BAD) side that show his eye my buddy pointed it out as we where skinning him out. His eye hole was full of white cartilidge looking stuff and his eye lid was about 70% healed shut. Thats also the side that has his lower tusk broken in half.http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u52/doetail68/DSCF0039.jpg

Ok Ted:

Sounds like he'd just lost it a few months before.

That's sure some nice country down there. I enjoyed it a lot but, thru the winter in Army clothing trying to make us tough wasn't much fun and plumb cold at times. Always wanted to spend some time roaming around the areas on my own.

I don't know any "old" bold pilots....you are so correct in that signature. One of my friends years ago was young and bold, and survived about 3 years of flying.

Nice hog with the black powder rig.
