Sat for a while last night at my friend's place. A pig or two have been showing up. Feeder went off at nine, minutes later a great blue heron took off croaking from the stock pond to the southeast, that will get the blood stirring. Nope, coyotes cranked up between me and the pond. 9:40 a raccoon showed up. Ok coon be there at 10:15 and I'll try to put the 416 Rigby on you! Right at ten the rascal stood up as high as he can get on his hind legs and looked to the West. He headed to tree I cut down behind the feeder pen. Two pigs trotted by in front of the lights and behind the downed tree! The bigger one would only face me so I put the fire dot on the top of his head and touched on off. One of us did not do good because it went between his ears through his back and out the right flank. Pig down!

350 Gr. Speer.

Dead pig, ain't that what the game is all about?

Years ago I had been out calling coyotes and had my antelope tag unfilled yet and the .223 along. Some goats spread out on the flats resting. I crawled hands n knee's half mile to get a shot. Very little brush to hide behind. I was in full camo. Eased out from behind a small sage and one was facing me legs spread etc. "wth hell you doing trying to sneak up on us for??"
I laid down and let the bipod legs out, shot was just 100yds. Allowed some for the scope. Fired and he took off, the rest never slowed down. This one stopped and looked back. I put a 55gr thru his ribs, liver and out the short ribs about 13" travel near as I could measure.
He had a groove cut in the hair center between his ears, hair was barely 1/8" long in the groove. That's about as close a miss as I've ever made.

Nice job. I like the 2-7 Firedot. I have one on a Ruger 350 Rem Mag. I'm partial to Rugers as well.
