Pig Slayers,

I've done an unsuccessful hog hunt near San Antone many years ago and would like to try again. Had a great time, tried to kill pigs with an old double rifle at night without proper lighting was a bugger. Turning 40 is a great excuse to give it a whirl again with more modern equipment.

There are tons of places to go, tough to make a choice. I don't mind spending a bit more for a chance at a Russian.

Last time I did a day-lease option, stayed in a hotel and drove myself to the ranch and walked to the blind. I enjoy hunting alone and would do it again if I could find a good place.

Going to a lodge woudn't be bad either, never done it before. I'd rather not be pampered by a guide though.

Any suggestions?

Cedar Ridge farms in Missouri if you don't mind travelling. Pure European stock. Hunted there last year and intend to do it again this year hopefully. You won't be disappointed.
