Some days ago I told you I have find this in another area of the pine plantation about 3 kilometres away from the first feeder:

So I decided to set a new feeder there. But rain make our lifes miserable during the set up and one thing is to lift the feeders empty and another thing is when they are full of corn Roll Eyes

but after some logistics we lift it using my truck.

We visit the place some days after to build the "tower blind"

The feeder was working ok

View from the feeder where the tower was build, just behind my truck, with a small creek between the feeder and the blind:

View of the feeder from the blind, the feeder is in the pines that are just behind the open spot behind the dry branch of a tree from the creek, shooting distance aprox. 120 yards..

The following pictures where taken in a THIRD feeder is put in the same farm but in an eucalypthus plantation.
First I test the aiming spot, do you ever feel like an idiot ?? Big Grin

And than, before leaving, I put some corn that was previously mixed with sugar and water for a week in the floor, and as always...it work !!

Axis buck

Two pigs

And obviously....the bloody hairy creatures that I don't shoot because they help me making money Big Grin

I hope not to bored you with all my stuff, but I am excited as I will be "visiting" my setups next week !!!!!!

COWS!!...The bane of my trapping/baiting for hogs.

The Hunt goes on forever, the season never ends.

I didn't learn this by reading about it or seeing it on TV. I learned it by doing it.

Thanks gentlemen.
What looks like brushes and small trees that appear in the pictures between the feeder and the tower are very BIG trees as the creek is VERY deep.

I have bought a couple of those "towers" that are use for painting houses. These are small and light models, very easy to assemble and to carry on the back of the truck. They allow you to put some brush between you and the pigs and avoid giving the wind to the feeders.

Hi!

I have just bought a feeder similar to yours, what kind of feed do you use? I am planning to use wheat grain and perhaps some corn.

Regards/Karl

Hi Karl,

I ALWAYS use corn, pigs loves it and the feeders works great with it.

I have been thinking in start using weed or something else but as I have had good results with the corn I just keep using that.

Keep us updated with your results and post some pics of your feeding setup.

I imagine that the pigs in your country must be VERY big to keep a hunter in the forests far away of those beatiful women you have up there !!! Big Grin

I can not imagine how life can be sorrounded with blue eyed blondies day after day... shocker

Good luck

That is a place I would not mind taking a long walk on, with a rifle and fly Rod of course. I would also bet, one could get a great steak dinner too!

Lorenzo, I will set up the feeder on friday and post some pics of the setup for sure.

Last week I saw 6 pigs in an oatfield that has not yet been harvested including a really big boar, probably around 150 kg.

About the women.. Cool what can I say..nothing can keep me away from hunting! (including blondies)

/Karl
