I know there's been a lot of time passed since this hunt but I'm still so darned tickled by this old guy that I had to give him his own thread. I have photos of how worn down his teeth were but haven't got them onto Photobucket yet. He was so old, in fact, that his teeth were worn down almost to the jaw line. Even better, he was so beaten up from old fighting injuries that he had broken bones around his eye socket that had healed and his snout was broken right through! Old warrior that I was lucky enough to bring to bag with the help of some excellent trackers (Robert, Tiki and Mundoga), an outstanding PH (Ian Gibson) and my brother who dammed a shot into him to bring the 3.5 hour tracking marathon to a close.

He tapes out at 14 7/8" (as best I can remember - he's at my parents place until we move back South after this tour). The inches are just the icing on the cake after a complete hunting experience like that.

My brother and I.

And his nibs after being gutted on scene and carried back to the road.
