Thought I would ask here in this forum to see if some of you have first-hand experience with this pistol caliber on hogs. I'd be curious about loads and performance anecdotes. I just got a Glock Model 40 MOS in 10 mm, and am thinking I want to put it to use on these critters this winter or spring in Northern California. I would be looking for a hog for the table, so nothing much over 120 pounds if possible.

Years ago I got charged by a 275 lb. plus boar that had been wounded.

I put 7, 230 gr. rounds from my Glock 36 into him before he dropped at my feet.

I decided then and there I wanted more firepower.

The 10 MM Glock works for me!!! At my lease it is the first thing I put on after my pants, shirt and boots. The accompaniment of sixteen, 180 or 200 gr. friends is supremely re-assuring.

Here is one I shot with the Glock 20 last weekend.

Not a big pig, but I'm jazzed. I was in a tripod and he came in underneath me while I was sitting there. I had taken the pistol out of my belt slide and set it on the floor. He caught my wind, but did not see me. He immediately took off towards my six. I grabbed the Glock. He was about 25 paces when I started firing. It was almost dark and I twisted and one-handed tracked him with 8 rounds. I decided to wait a couple minutes then got down and went to the spot in the creek-bed where I first started shooting. After about going 10 steps or so I found ablood blood. Normally these days I do not track hoglets into thick juniper after dark. However I wanted this one. Sure enough, he piled up about 50 yds in at the base of a juniper.

Geedubya, thank you for your report! I am thinking a 215 grain WFN at maximum poop out of the new Glock 40's longslide 6-inch barrel will get the job done if I get my part right.

Bill:
Check out what Dr. Juan has said about them. He shoots pigs all the time with a 9mm. Don't know that he's said how many times though.

Good luck and be safe,
George
