Thats all I have . I need a scope to go on my new Remington 750 woodmaster. I've had it with Simmons,Tasco, Bushness and Weaver. So what choices do I have ? This rifle will be sighted in and hunted with 7-10 days a year for deer. It needs to take some hard knocks and hold poi also bright enough to shoot those last few minutes before sundown. Please don't say save your money for a leupold. This is all I can affford.

You have several good, solid choices to work with: Nikon BuckMasters, Burris FFII or Bushnell Elite 3200. I'd go with the Nikon, but the other 2 will serve you well also. I failed to mention the Weaver Classic series, another solid lineup of scopes that will do the job and not break the bank. Bobby Μολὼν λαβέ The most important thing in life is not what we do but how and why we do it. - Nana Mouskouri

Have you considered a used scope? Chris Hyde, at Vintage Sporting Goods, sells some beautiful older scopes for well under $175.00. He advertises in Gun List. They don’t have all the bells and whistles like some of the new ones, but optically they are every bit as good, and in some cases much better.

Fixed or variable? In your price range I like the Nikon Buckmaster 4x40. I have one of these. Great scope. I have the older model. The newer models have a little more light transmission. In a variable try the Mueller 3.5x10x44 Extreme. http://www.muelleroptics.com/products/EX31044.html You'd be hard pressed to find a better scope in the price range. I'll second the comments about the Optic Zone. I have bought two scopes from them in a year. Great people to do business with. ZM

Get a Nikon Buckmasters and never look back. Great scope and great glass. Good Luck Reloader

The Leupold VX-I 2-7x at $180 is the best scope value available, if the extra $5 won't bust your budget, that is. It is a time-proven design that is utterly reliable and backed by the best warranty in the business. At least that's what people claim; I've never needed to send any of dozens of Leupolds in for service in 42 years of using them. I'm not sure if it is the best "telescope" in this price range, but it is far and away the best optical gunsight.

Leupold rifleman's are pretty good for the money. I had one on a 375 for a little while and it held up fine.

Mueller or Nikon IMO. I've got a Mueller on a Handi-Rifle at home and it's worked very well so far. I got the one with the illuminated reticle and I like it a lot. ====================================== Cleachdadh mi fo m' féileadh dé tha an m' osan.
