Hi: I have a Leupold 2.5 compact on my Whitworth .458WM and am going to scope a Brno602 .458Lott. Has anyone mounted a 2.5x8 Leupold on a Lott? I'd like to know if it can handle the recoil. Dan

gunbug,

Critical eye relief is the question. I have a 2.5-8 on a .375 no problems. You need 4+ inches in my opinion on the Lott.

Agreed. Eye relief is the determining factor on a .458Lott, IMO. I have a Leupold 1.5-5 in QR rings mounted as far forward as possible on my RSM, and I still have to be careful.

I took 3 stitches over my eye in the Zambia bush to take my Lion from the prone position, and yes, I knew I would get cut shooting prone but had no choice. The things we do to ourselves in the name of sport.

Leupy 1.5-5x is the only one I would even consider. I love all of mine on .375-.458's.
