I am in the market for a new scope and the Trijicon scopes really have my eye. The ones I have looked thru are so clear and bright and the lighted dot looks like it would be good in low light. Not sure I could deal with the post version but for the deer hunting I do I think the cross hair version might be nice. Just wanted to see if anyone has experience with these scopes for hunting. These scopes are awesome for hunting. Pretty good low light transmission and the the reticle is just the right illumination as the sun goes down. The one thing you need to do is put a fog coating on the lense because if you breath once on the lense, it will be fogged until you dry it off. I had the triangle. If you go with a crosshair model, get green as the dot is not very big and doesn't show up as well as the triangle. The green dot ones i looked at were still visible in the dark.

The best time for these scopes are the last 15 min of shooting hour when you are under thick tree cover and cannot see a normal crosshair on the body of a deer.

The other best time for a Trijicon scope is when you are looking at a black or very dark animal. Your scope's black crosshairs would normally disappear against your target, but the green dot makes it still work. Personal experience with feral hogs and cape buffalo gives me this opinion. Trijicon makes many scopes for the military, and prices them right, IMO. Jack Hood DRSS

I compared them with some other scopes at a sporting goods store and found them to have the least eye relief. Other than that they seemed to have good glass for the money and the illumination was a plus.
