Is like to hear any good or not so good field experiences. I'm considering putting one on my sons new rifle. Thanks in advance!

I looked at the Redfield scopes a few months ago. One line of 2-7s appeared to be the same as the Leupold VX-1 but with lots of unnecessary knurling and a slightly lower price. The cheaper "Revenge" line looked smart but its Euro-style focus actually seemed to ruin the blending of the fields, giving it a tunnel-vision not seen in the VX-1 or dearer Redfield.

I finally bought the Leupold, hoping the traditional line would not be beaten by their fighting brand. Also, I preferred the rubber lens covers to the Redfield's plastic ones

The Redfield Revolution is advertised as made in the same U.S. plant as Leupolds. Since the advertising is silent on the origin of the Revenge line, it is my assumption that it is Asian-made. This doesn't necessarily make it a lesser scope just because of its origin, but its design probably varies from the Leupold/Redfield design and thus would have some different opti-mechanical characteristics which might or might not suit a particular shooter as well.

I've be interested if someone could verify whether the Revenge is an imported item.

I'd think that if they advertise it as made in the USA, it would be. Leupold would suffer a brand-damaging scandal if anyone found that they were not, considering the patriotic fervor involved in matters like this.

Let me clarify on the subject of the origin of the Redfield scopes: The Redfield Revolution line is touted on the website as being made in Oregon. The Redfield Revenge line webpage makes no mention of the origin of the Revenge line. That is why I assume that the Revenge is likely made in Asia, while the Revolution is assembled in the U.S.

I say "assembled" rather than "made" simply because optical glass is sourced from makers around the world, many of them likely in Asia.

The newer Revenge is definitely not made in the US.It is made in the Phillipines.

Thanks for the info, Bobby. I've never even pick up a Redfield Revenge, and while it is probably a quite usable scope, I suspect that its optical and mechanical features would not be particularly pleasing to a person who is accustomed to the design of the Leupold and Redfield Revolution design.

I have one friend who bought a Revolution and is pleased with it. I have another who has a small shop and has sold a number of the Revolutions and reports that customers are well pleased. It will be interesting to see what the user reviews of the Revenge have to say.
