My 512 works great on my Marlin .450 Eotech sights are tested to 20,000 g's according to their website. If your hunting dog is fat, then you aren't getting enough exercise.

I have a 512 and a 552, and don't know the recoil limits, if any, of either one. I do know the 552 has been sold to some Foreign Armies for use on their main battle rifles. Good to know they work on some heavy hitters as mentioned above. My 512 is mounted on a tricked out Ruger 10-22 as a dedicated cat rifle... Zero recoil in that application...LMAO It's all black, appropriately..

They're designed for 500 Gs. I don't think a shoulder-fired weapon will get close to that, ever. An Abrams main gun, maybe. But not something you can pick up and shoot. "Experience" is the only class you take where the exam comes before the lesson.

I've shot them on a number of 1911-based handguns in 38 Super, 40 S&W loaded to 10mm strength, and 45 ACP, as well as .41 Mag revolvers. Survived a .416 Rigby rifle nicely. Supposed to work with the M2 Browning .50 BMG. I don't thing the Marlins have a prayer of hurting one. Mike -------------- DRSS, Womper's Club, NRA Life Member/Charter Member NRA Golden Eagles ... I have seen a pic of one on a 50BMG in Iraq. I like mine, but it will drain batteries even if turned off. Hunting: Exercising dominion over creation at 2800 fps.

A coworker and I both have the "N" battery models and they both will drain the battery over the course of a couple months. Annoying but it's still the best sight going for an AR-15 in my humble opinion.
