Well I just got in two of the new Nikon Monarch scopes, and while they are nice, the opitcal clarity is not much different than the old Monarch in my opinion--also in Jon Jacoviak's from the Optic Zone's opinion. I probably should have just asked Jon, he told me when he was getting ready to ship them that they still were not as good as a Conquest, but they were a little lower in price, so were a good value. I think from now on, if I'm not going to buy a Swaro or Zeiss VMV, it's going to be a Conquest or a Burris Fullfield 2. That's right, a Fullfield 2. I bought one of those recently, and on a rig that isn't mission critical where I'm looking to economize, I think the optics on the Fullfield 2 are slightly better than on the new Monarch, they are at least as good..... I will put the 6 x 24 Nikon on a 308 I just use for target shooting, where twilight performance is not critical, the 2.5x10 might get torture tested on a PCP air rifle I need to scope.....

Good info. Thanks for the share. Haven't tried any Conquests yet, but will do so. Also, one of our gun writers recommended the Burris Fullfield as a best buy in it's price range. Don

Torture test on a PCP airgun? Surely you jest. A springer yes, a PCP, about the easiest shooting rifle one can get.

Esldude, I stand corrected, on one of my spring loaders! I've got a PCP I need to scope, but will take one off of one of my springers to do that, I have a couple of PCP's, but my Weirauch springer in .20 has some real thump.... I've been impressed with the Burris so far Don. Regards--Don
