Why anyone would send a dime their way is beyond me. Their price match policy is an absolute joke and anyone who thinks they're getting any kind of a deal buying from the Samplelist must live in a cave....

I wouldn't do business with SWFA. If you have to send something back they charge you a 15% restocking fee. What a joke, this is an arrogant bunch, $25.00 to have some redneck walk back and put a box on a shelf.

Old school business practices: takes his clients at their word, only sells optics he would use himself, drops his card in every shipment. AND has solid prices to boot.

This guy is good people.

I take that statement with a large grain of salt. We've been here since 1957 and my brother and I and our crew do our best to continue to run the business as our Dad taught us to. Of course, Dad still comes in twice a week to "keep an eye on things" and we wouldn't have it any other way.

I have bought more than 10 scopes (all Leupolds) from SWFA, and a few from Bear Basin. I have had zero problems with either of them.

I've bought 3 scopes from SWFA. A conquest, a Nikon, and a rather cheap BSA for 22lr that belongs to the kids. They had the best prices that I could find, and I had no problems with there service. They were actually very helpful.

Bought some Sample List Kahles scopes. Have recently been shopping at CameralandNY.com from Doug. His Swarovski scopes and Pentax binos were not able to be beat by anyone and they were GREAT to deal with.

I look to Doug for all my needs now...

I am sort of surprised that no one has mentioned MidwayUSA. I get most of my reloading stuff from them and they have great customer service.

Doug and Jon have been great, as has SWFA. I have purchased about 4 scopes and done 2 trades with them incl a pricematch, no probles with any of them and would buy from SWFA again. Not sure what the problem is.

I have been buying half of my scopes from SWFA for 15 years.

Half of the scopes I get from them are pure shit.

That is my fault for ordering the wrong scopes.

SWFA doesn't make the scopes, they just ship them.

Except the Super Sniper 20X [That I can't give away for free]. That's partially SWFA's fault.

Their 110% I never get, because they have the minimum advertisable franchised price. If anyone is cheaper, they can't advertise it.

I will continue to buy half my scopes from SWFA.

But..SCREW Optics Planet!
Of 1,000 suppliers, they are in my bottom 1%.
They don't know that they don't have it in stock and take the order anyway.
Their estimated time of shipment is pure B.S.
There is a 50% chance of a gotcha when dealing with those stupid Cretans.

I have been buying scopes for over 40 years and now only buy from Doug at Camera Land and Jon at the Optic Zone. Sooner or later SWFA will let you down. I have found Doug and Jon to be honest and straight shooters and they are getting all my business.

I've bought one used scope from SWFA off their Samplelist. No complaints about the quality of the scope or the customer service. I'm in Texas and not too far from them, so it felt right buying from a Texas company.

I've been looking at picking up a Swaro AV scope now that they've discontinued that line, and have found a better price on that model (as compared to SWFA) at camera land ny, plus no sales tax. I've previously bought one scope from them, got a great price on a demo that was NIB as far as I could tell. Looks like the Yankee shop will be getting my business again.

I have never bought anything from them and never will. I usually buy scopes from Doug at Cameraland, or Bear Basin and will buy an FXII 4X in the near future from Rick Bin or Jon at the optics zone.

On a similar topic I was a member of their forum for a while but got kicked off (a first for me) for challenging an idiot that refered to the optics in a 3 x 9 Zeiss Conquest as "rooty poot" compared to the Diavari MC.

Trying to gather something more technical regards that comment in that I have both a Diavari and 3 Conquests led me to believe that any troll could post any drivel there what so ever and it would be welcomed as a "post" instead of challenged. While anyone with first hand knowledge that challenged said idiot was not welcome.

What a lot of smart e-business companies do is buy up all the domain names "around" theirs that people might type in by accident, and re-direct to the proper website.

what I see SWFA doing is taking advantage (not in a good or bad way, but simply in the literal sense) of being an e-business with no possible "window shopping" that physical stores have. They do not have "fake" sites that emulate the site(s) you may have been trying to get to ... and then sell you a scope you think you are buying from a mfg ... but instead they are just getting you into their site to see if you might want to purchase from them.

There's no "mystery" about it ... it says SWFA in big letters on their home page, which is where you end up when you're re-directed ... If the web surfer in question has any brains, they will know they are not at "Khales Optics" website, or whatever website they intended to go to ... and they can easily try a new search for the proper website.

I guess my point is, whatever you can do (as an legitimate e-business) to draw people to your site can (or should) only help business by getting people familiar with your site.

I'd gather that most "joes" out there that don't frequent boards like this will never hear of the e-retailers like SWFA, or TheOpticZone, or similar ... So basically, if they offer their merchandise at reasonable prices, treat the buyer well, and offer good service after the sale... what does it matter how you got there? Seems everyone wins when you get a good deal on a good optic ... so what am I missing?

I have had reasonable expereince dealing with SWFA on a handful of scopes over the years. I have also spent a lot of time with internet marketing. If you object to companies buying misspelled domain names and misspelled keywords of their competitors you shouldn't do business with any internet supplier. Most successful ones do it all the time on their own name and competitors

I've had nothing but great dealing with SWFA and would do business with them again in a heart beat. Sounds like there might be some sandy pussies out there still who didn't get their 6x42 Nikon's hand devivered to them quick enough. SWFA went out of their way to please folks on that deal.

I do not know much about SWFA because the first on line scope I bought was from Jon at theopticzone.com. He was cheaper than SWFA. Scope arrived and had a factory defect, well sevral defects, but it was new in the celophane wrapper. I called Jon and told him what was going on and his reply was "You want to swap it for a new one, same model, a different model and I refund you the diffrence or would like a full refund?" No hassle at all and offered a full refund. I swapped it for a different scope and the balance was in my account in less than a week from the phone call.

I direct EVERYONE I know to Jon and not a single one has ever had a problem.

I know they offered some pretty good discounts on other scope brands for the folks who were in line for the 6x42 Monarch that they were selling for $100. The folks who chose to wait got their $250 Monarch's for $100 when they became available. Chris at SWFA had no control over the availability of the Nikon's they were blowing out, but when they ran out of stock and still had a bunch of folks still waiting to have their orders filled, he struck some kind of deal with Nikon to make more available even know they (Nikon) were discontinuing them.

SWFA does take trade in optics firearms etc.
Their business policies are clearly stated:
http://swfa.com/About.aspx
They have provided Opticstalk.com as a free forum to allow open discussion of optics and related issues in an effort to help customers.
I dont see anything misleading or deceptive in the way they do business. There is a restocking fee where a few years ago there was not but if you know this up front you select carefully. I have returned a couple of scopes to them that had manufacturers defects and they chose not to charge a restocking fee because the item was defective. I have purchased more than a few scopes from them and found them to be fairly priced and helpful. I think I'd rather send my money to Texas than to N. Y. As for Midway I dont buy scopes there but I buy other stuff there but for a while now their site has been so slow you better bring a lunch box.

I urge any of you to try to get SWFA to honor the %110 low price gaurantee.

I've tried at least 6 times, they were rude and NEVER matched the lower prices I found. Low price gaurantee my foot!

I despise companies that have false advertising.
