The all-steel (EL Paso) K-series Weavers, especially in the lower powers, are (were) stout, serviceable scopes. They were not the brightest of optics, but resolving power was fully adequate for hunting. I don't care for them in the powers greater than 4x because they become very long and heavy and the relatively mediocre optics of the day show their haziness much more in the higher powers. However, I own a K-1.5, K-2.5, and K-4, all of which are about as good as anything you can buy in those powers today, and much tougher than most.
