Greetings, I'm trying figure out the year my Lyman scope was produced. It is a Lyman Alaskan 2-1/2 power with a serial number in the low 52000. I do know it is post war and I think it is from the 50s. I have the origional box and may post a picture of it.

Does it have the built-in ( or "built-on") extendable sliding objective lens shade?

My country gal's just a moonshiner's daughter, but I love her still.

No sliding lens shade. Thanks for the reply. I spoke to Lyman and they said they have a couple of older guys that might be able to help but I need to get them a picture. They didn't keep any records from back then but hopefully someone can give me a ball park year it was built.
