Does anyone have a good optical solution for shooting jackrabbits in sagebrush. If you've ever hunted 'em, you know what I'm talking about. I've tried open sights and a scope and both are far less than satisfactory. Any suggestions? How bout the Bushnell holosight??

Thanks

Try a relatively low power scope with a wide field of view and "non-critical" eye relief. The Leupold VX-III 1.5-5 should be ideal. Keep both eyes open and you'll be amazed how quickly you pick up your target.

When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere.

NEVER, EVER book a hunt with BLAIR WORLDWIDE HUNTING or JEFF BLAIR.

I have come to understand that in hunting, the goal is not the goal but the process.

I know a 65 year old guy that shoots allot of jack rabbits on years the are plentiful.

He uses the semi auto 22.
He claims he cannot pick up the rabbit running in sage with a scope.
He uses the red fiber optic open sights.

I have a Bushnell Holosight on my 6" GP100 - I've hit running Jack's at 90 yards with it and can ring a gong at 200 yards (albeit very softly!) with superb consistency.

I'm sold on the Holosight for fast target work, and it is a permanent fixture on my GP100 for the past 3 years.

Regards,

Robert

Thanks all for the advise. Looks like it is down to Holosight and a redo dot sight. Which red dot sight do you guys like?

Thanks,

Jordan

Red dot sights are blurry to me, as my eyeballs are stuck at 3' and I will not wear my glasses.

But I can hit a a deer in the lungs at 500yards with 2X because the scope focusing for me is more important than magnifying.

So I need a red dot scope
