Is there anywhere that has better prices on Swarovski scopes? I'm looking for a 1.5-6x42 and seems like all the big guys (SWFA, BearBasin...) are at the same list price.

Swaro and Zeiss as well for that matter say F.U. to United States antitrust (price fixing) regualtions. They will literally pull their product line from a dealer who sells below a set pricing schedule. Oakley sunglasses is famous for the same schtick.

That having been said, due to their policies you aren't going to find many folks selling more than a few dollars below another.....there are many manufacturers in the optics biz besides these few that play that game--Leica comes to mind and many others as well--hope that answers your question to some degree.

Good Luck--Don

These scopes are expensive everywhere in the world, but if quality is wanted and expected these are the brands to choose from, Zeiss, Swaro, Kahles, S&B.

Becareful of the high end brands you may find at low prices on the internet. Many are what are knonw as grey market. They left he factory with some type of noted defect and dont' have a warranty of any type. Any repair will cost you.

Grey market does not generally mean refurbished or damaged goods. The majority of grey market stuff is brand new and made right along side the USA warrantied products. The difference is, grey market goods are not imported through an authorized distributor; therefore, they don't pay the proper duty taxes, etc., and the manufacturer looses control over their Minimum Advertised Pricing (MAP) structure.

To some, buying grey market is no big deal if they can save $300.00-$400.00 up front, but to me, it's not worth saving a little money to take a chance if there's ever a warranty issue.

Swarovski requires their dealers to mark up a minimum of 10%..to maintain their high end image to the retail customer.
