| Swaro and Zeiss as well for that matter say F.U. to United States antitrust (price fixing) regualtions. They will literally pull their product line from a dealer who sells below a set pricing schedule. Oakley sunglasses is famous for the same schtick.
That having been said, due to their policies you aren't going to find many folks selling more than a few dollars below another.....there are many manufacturers in the optics biz besides these few that play that game--Leica comes to mind and many others as well--hope that answers your question to some degree.
Good Luck--Don |

| Grey market does not generally mean refurbished or damaged goods. The majority of grey market stuff is brand new and made right along side the USA warrantied products. The difference is, grey market goods are not imported through an authorized distributor; therefore, they don't pay the proper duty taxes, etc., and the manufacturer looses control over their Minimum Advertised Pricing (MAP) structure.
To some, buying grey market is no big deal if they can save $300.00-$400.00 up front, but to me, it's not worth saving a little money to take a chance if there's ever a warranty issue. |
