opus72$ value for this Swarovski?
I'm thinking about unloading this scope. I need a new one to top my 375 for lion, so 6-24x really isn't necessary. This scope only went on one hunt and is in great shape. One ding on the top cap, and some ring marks from mounting. Any ideas what I should ask for this if I decide to sell it? I think I paid around $2K for it when I purchased it new a couple years ago. Thanks.

hairbolWhat Reticle?
I've seen New cross hair versions go for $1,000 to $1,200 and those with TDS a tad more.

Marc_Stokeldwhen did you buy the scope?
Had it previously been mounted on a .375 H&H? If not, what was it on?
Approimately how many rounds were fired using tthe scope?
thanks!

opus72I bought it in June '09. It was mounted on a 300 RUM. Maybe 2 boxes of ammo put through the rifle while the scope was on it. I've come to realize that I don't need that kind of magnification, so this scope has just been sitting in my safe.

RSIMMONSThere are a couple on Ebay around the $1500-$1650 range. But, that's the asking price. No bids yet.

That is completely meaningless. People ask all sorts of crazy things several million times a day on ebay.
i just checked the completed lists and the real selling price is $1300 for brand new scopes of this model. One went for more, but all of the others (and they were NIB) actually sold for $1300
i talked to a friend who is the larget Swaro owner I know. To answer the question you posed at the start of this thread, $800 is a good deal for the buyer, $900 is just an OK deal for a buyer, and more is too much. If I were selling it I would ask $900 with $1000 being the most I would ask.
Can you get more? maybe, maybe not-who knows? You need to be prepared to sit on it for a pretty good while. May get lucky and sell early, but just be prepared to wait it out
BTW-if i was selling that scope and wanted to ask more than $900, i would change the elevation adjustment cap. It looks bad and a NIB scope can be found for such a low price.
