Recently picked up a nice M70 Stainless Classic (SS in walnut stock).

I have never like silver scopes. Anybody have some pics of a SS rifle with a blued scope? And SS rings/bases or blued?

thanks

I agree with your distaste of silver scopes. If I had a stainless rifle, I would probably opt for matte finish scope, rings and bases. One of my son's friends brought out a Ruger stainless synthetic in .338 win mag out to the range last week with a matte Nikon Buckmaster mounted in the ruger stainless rings, and it looked quite nice. The scope sort of matched the stock, while the stainless rings certainly matched the rifles action and barrel.

Bullets are pretty worthless. All they do is hang around waiting to get loaded.

I,too don't care for silver scopes. IMO matte scopes look good on any rifle. Lou

No silver scopes for me. I have matt blued on stainless and it looks just fine. On a 400 uard shot don't think the target can tell the difference. LOL

Stainless has a dull finish like the matte does so the two work well together. Silver and gloss have shiny finishes and contrast quite a bit with the stainless. Matte scope and bases on a ss gun is great looking.

Pics as requested:

I only had one ss/ss combo. To me if the SS finishes don't match exactly it really looks off. The contrasting Blue/black to me looks far better even if the stock isn't also black..................DJ
