So on my way up north to one of my projects, I stop at the range to take some quick sighter shots from my 338. I twisted the butler creek flip up cover off the front, and damned if the ring didn;t start turning. I stopped what I was doing and tightened it back on, and I don;t think it went over half a turn. Is it likely that the scope has lost its nitrogen fill ?? It's not the end of the world, as I can bring up a spare M8 4x next week, and the rifle has a good set of irons, but if it is ok, I'd sooner leave it together Thanks

i doubt very much if the gas has escaped. 1st you still have the 0 ring seal, and second the scope isn't pressurized. half a turn isn't enough to even loose the pressure on the oring seal
