I may be a minority of 1, but I am looking for 8x32 binoculars which are close to the typical 42mm length but scaled down in weight due to the smaller lenses. I prefer the longer body length to get my whole hand on the barrel and better hold steady. I have looked at the Swaro ELs, but the price is a killer. Any recommendations for longer-sized 8x32 with good optics. For reference, the Swaro EL 8x32 is 5.3" long - many typical 8x32 units are not more than 5" long. thanks

Leupold used to offer a roof prism 8x30 which had a body the length you describe. You can find them used on eBay or similar once in a blue moon. I've taken such a binocular with me to Africa twice and have been pleased with its compactness and utility.
