I have a 8X56 S&B scope and was wondering if anyone has any actual experience of the correct Butler Creek Blizzard scope covers to fit this scope? I know they provide measurements etc. but thought to ask what folks are finding actually works in the real world just in case it differs from the simple measurements.

If I remember correctly measure your scope and look at the butler creek chart and goto the closest one UNDER your measurement. Mine was right on the chart measurment and was loose had to go back for the next smaller size.
Hope this is what you were looking for.

Thanks for that Kenny, that is most useful and the sort of guidance I was after. Do you know which of the measurements I need for the ocular end of my scope:

I guess it is A as the cover needs to fit over the eyepiece. Do you think that the flip up covers will be secure on a scope with the ocular that shape?

I've had the best luck with just taking my rifle/scope into the store and just trying them on. The stores that I've gone to have a list of scopes with the sizes of the right caps, but there are a lot of scopes they don't list.

I found the following, I've no idea how accurate it is but hopefully someone will find it useful:

Midway has size information for these in their catalogue.

The Butler Creek flip up caps are great. Other brands are useless. Don't bother with anything other than the Butler Creek's.

As far as the measurements go, you will need to get one that will fit the largest of those three. Also, if you really are in between sizes, I think the going down in size is the way to go. You don't remove this things once there on.

I finally quit worrying about scope covers and I'm glad I did.

I just bought flip up covers for a couple dozen rifles.

I now believe they are more trouble than they are worth.

I still like the Leupold magnetic covers for varmint rifles, but for big game, I want the covers off.
