I got a Rossi Trifecta with a .243 barrell for my son to hunt dear with. Now I'm looking for a scope. My first inclination would be to a Nikon 2-8x32; they are about 11 inces long. Which is about right for the short little rifle. I see that they are quiet proud of them to the point that the scope costs almost as much as the rifle. I am wondering what other scope might be the right size and value for a little less price. I'm thinking about $200 or less.

I bought a Konus Pro 3-10x44mm illuminated scope and have been very pleased with the clarity. You can get them on line at Midway and Optics Planet.

They have etched glass reticles and can stand heavy recoil.

You can get one for $150 or less.
