I heard all elite 3200 and 4200 scopes are being discontinued for 2011. Has anyone else heard this? Figures, since I just bought an elite 4200 4 X 16 that it would be gong away. Does anyone know if I can fit that with a tactical turet?

Yep, it's the end of the era for the 3200 and 4200 series. They were talking about it over on the swfa forum. Maybe a good time to scarfe up some good deals soon. I missed out on the Nikon change over here awhile back. I did pick up another FF II for an unbelieveable price though last week. I'm sure Bushnell will have a new and improved version though.

Rats, that is what I was afraid of. I hope they stay around long enough for me to steal a 6500 tactical. Hard to beat the scope at a half price discount.....everybody should be looking for one.

I wish they would have kept this line.I've got several 3200's and 4200's on top my rifles. They all have performed well for me.What I'm wondering,if I have to send one in someday, what is Bushnell going to do about the warranty? If it needs to be replaced, what will they replace it with?Another thing I've noticed is,in the last year they jumped up in price around $150.00 or so,now the clearance scopes are selling for about the same price they did before the price hike.WTF?Sound like something they were planning for a while.Sad to see them go and I may not buy anymore because of the uncertainty of this product.

my guess would be that it will be more of a rename. There great scopes but many shy away from them because they relate the name bushnel with cheap optics. Ive allways said that if they were still using the baush and lomb name on them they would probably be the best selling scope on the market.

Geez guys, all this angst over upgrading a product line? Time marches on. I want the companies to improve their products. Lots of new goodies will be introduced shortly at the SHOT Show.

I heard Cabelas has got the 3x9x40 4200 for $179 and I think a rebate also. So I think that if you keep your eyes open you should be able to get a good deal.

The Elite series IS NOT going away, it is simply being revamped and improved for 2011. Feel free to check out the 2011 magazine online at www.bushnell.com/catalog. With regard to replacing turrets, we no longer have that program. Thank you for contacting Bushnell and have a great day!

That is directly from one of the techs at bushnell. Looks like it is time to start looking for some deals on old models.

I am hearing over on the swfa forum that they will no longer sell the Elite series as 3200 or 4200 series after this year. They will be lumped together as elite series. They will be purged with Argon gas instead of nitrogen that is the rumors I am hearing. I do not know how accurate this info is maybe rumors but I have seen some really good deals on the 3200 and 4200 scopes. Your milage may vary.
