I need to find out if a S&B scope will fit on a Howa long action without extension rings.(without having the action or the scope at hand)

Therefor I would like to know the distance between the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th screwhole in the Howa action, or the inner and outer distance between a set of mounted rings and the width of the rings, so that I can calculate what I need to know. Who can help?

reideer,I've got a long action Smith&Wesson(made by Howa in the early 1980s),it's the same action as yours. Hope this info helps.
Bases: Weaver (front #35) (rear #36)
Rings: Leupold Rifleman vertical split (mediums) (19/32" wide)
Ring to Ring measurements: (outside 5 1/4") (inside 4 3/16")
This was the narrowist base/ring setup I could come up with and seems to be holding up very well. GOOD LUCK!!
