Does anyone here have any ideas regarding a way to mount a one-inch scope in 30mm rings? I'd love to find a commercial product for this purpose, or failing that find some sort of material of the correct thickness that could be used to make my own bushings. Thanks in advance for any help.

Or, maybe Burris has shims.
If that doesn't work, I'd try black electrcial tape.

I saw a post on this subject a short time back. I believe that Brownells offers such a 30mm to 25.4mm bushing.

In Brownells catalog #62 on page 209 they have Delrin Ring reducers.

Part #084-000-091AC 30mm to 1" ring reducers $19.99 or $14.70 if you have an account with them.

Buy proper rings.
99% of all accuracy problems are caused by faulty scope mounts. And a bushing is a fault in itself!

Well made bushings will not cause any accuracy problem, unless, possibly with very heavy scopes on hard kicking rifles. I have 2 rifles with the excellent Burris signature rings, with offset polymer bushing system to "centre" the scope and I'm very satisfied.

Thanks to all for your suggestions and assistance. I was prepared to order the Brownell's version, but was fortunate enough to stumble upon two pairs at a local gun show (for $10 each!)

For the record, I have also had excellent results with the Burris inserts, using only the straight, non-offset types in their rings. I do agree with McFox that correct rings are probably the best bet, and I may go that route. The bushings will allow me to temporarily experiment with a very light one-inch scope on a gun that uses an expensive proprietary mount that has 30mm rings. If the lighter scope gives me the improvement that I am seeking, then I'll consider getting another mount with one-inch rings. For now, the bushings are the perfect solution.

Thanks again.
