I bought myself a Leopold variable scope 2 years back for my .222Rem. Very accurate rifle, but have difficulties with it. It uses the dovetail scope mount rails. It is already on the maximum to the front of the scope mount rail. I have already fitted a rubber pad on the rifle stock to give me 1/2 inch extra space. I struggle to find my aimpoint on the scope. The focus is "too far back" and this means that I have not one same impact point. Is there perhaps somebody who know if there is a base plate which could be fitted so that the scope could be mounted another 1/2inch - 1 inch forward. I like to have my eye as far as possible to the front of the rifle stock for consistancy and does not like going backwards and forward with my eye until I find the focus point. It is terrible when you have to shoot a buck in a few seconds. I am from South Africa.

I think that LYNX Optics makes a ext ring mount for dovetail actions. Yackman
