Stalking Scope or Hill Scope. Grays of Inverness still make them and they are lovely to use. I have an older Ross which lives in my hunting pack and used quite regularly. Bought it last year - well used but still perfectly usable. Also have a vintage Negretti & Zambra Stalking Scope that was my wife Grandathers. It still gets used but on fine days. They take a bit of getting used to, but their length allows to do away with tripods etc. sit down learning against a rock and brace it across your knee, or with your walking stick. The Swarovski draw is optically great, but a lot shorter so ergonomically doesn't work. You are better off with a converntional spotting scope or a tripod.

Butch, they're meant to be used as spotting scopes, not duct taped to the barrel of your Mossberg! :-)
