There is a 25X LYMAN ALL AMERICAN scope offered for sale in an estate auction near here and I did the consigning of a bunch of the guns in it for a friend (old Winchesters, L.C. Smiths and some really old time goodies!!) and it is more than just these firearms. The scope appears nearly new, no marks or flaws and glass is clear and crisp. What are these things worth today? Thinking about buying it if it doesn't get ridicoulous and putting it on my old 40X in 222Mag BR gun as it would be "period". GHD Groundhog Devastation(GHD)

i believe that 500+ is probably asking prices, those are some of my favorite old scopes & I'd gladly give 350 for it. got an old sako 222 mag heavy bbl with a 10x lyman with 1/8 minute hairs and a 1/4 minute dot. oh yea 40x 222 mag 25 lyman

They were regarded as one of the best in that power range in their day, and nothing much other than fashion and advertising copy has changed since then. I think Butch's guess of $500 may be a little optimistic, but his offer of $350 is fully realistic. Maybe somewhere in between, depending on who shows up for the auction. I've seen a few on ebay. They usually run in the $250-$400 range depending on condition (and the phase of the moon.)
