Zeiss 7X40 DF NVA Military Binoculars
Check Point Charlie Zeiss NVA DF 7X40 binoculars in good condition.

99% of the these binoculars that you find are either refurbished or heavily used.

These are not refurbished these are original.

These are in good condition with no or slight wear marks on the rubber armor and no scratches on the glass.

These are a rare find!!

These are the original CheckPoint Charlie Binoculars that were manufactured by Zeiss during the 1980's and used for surveillance of the Berlin Wall.

These are probably the best model of binoculars ever made by Zeiss - or anyone else.

Manufactured to stringent specifications of East-German Border Patrol during the 1980's, these were designed and used for high- , low- and night-light surveillance in all weather conditions. A combination of medium magnification, large objective lenses and high quality optics render an unparalleled clarity across the entire visual field.

On the inside of the ocular cover there are two yellow filters, in order to be able to make a relaxed sky observation in bright weather. These filters are stored in the ocular cover and can be taken on and off with ease.

These binoculars are amazing optically. They offer superb image quality that is very crisp and clear edge to edge.

These binoculars are furnished with a built-in rangefinder in the right ocular. This is a great feature, but it in no way effects or obstructs the image.

These binoculars would be ideal for hunting

These binoculars are very durable. They are rubber armored, waterproof, nitrogen filled-this feature is found in most high end German optics such as Leica, Swarovski and Zeiss. Nitrogen filling makes takes all of the internal oxygen out of the binoculars. This makes it so they are not susceptible to fogging during temperature changes. In order to nitrogen purge a binocular all seals must be air tight, this guarantees that the binoculars will be water tight/waterproof as well.

I came across this thread over three years too late. Frowner

I bought a pair of Zeiss Jena DF 7x40 binoculars about three years ago for less than $200.

They were used but in VERY GOOD condition with very good optics (which were in PERFECT condition).

I use them for my "truck glasses" that I have with me at all times. I don't abuse them.... but I use them pretty hard. They are carried in a small ammo can that I've equipped with foam padding.

I don't use the IR filter or the illuminated stadia feature much! Wink

But if you want to see how the illuminated stadia feature works.... just put a mini-mag light up to the right side lens where the illuminator is attached.

These are pretty good "glass" for about $200.
