Was at the range today with a buddies rifle working on some loads. He has a newer high end Leupold scope with 3.5-10 reticle.
I noticed by moving my head as much as I could side to side I was able to move the cross hairs totally accros a 3" dot at 200 yds. It would be my opinion this is too much....possibly 1" should be about max? Input please...should we call Leupold??

i'd send it back if it had 1" - unless of course it has a parallax adjustment that i needed to crank on

Hey kraky

Post if over on 24hour and E will tell how to focus that Leupold. Wink

To me that is way too much. I have an older Kahles AH that has about an inch at 200 and it bugs the hell out of me. The only other scope I have that does not have an adjustable objective or side focus is a Zeiss Diavari 2.5x10x50 and it has exactly zero parallax at all ranges, don't know how they do it but they do.

Leupolds are normally pretty good with parallax. I'd call Leupold.

The Leupold user manual discusses parallax adjustment.

I'd discuss it if I knew which model you're talking about. Leupold scopes are perfect, and so is their customer service.

You could call . . .

Rereading your post, it just struck me you did little parallax test at 200 yds. Most (big game) scopes are set to be parallax free at 100, though. Not sure whether 3" @ 200 yds (approx 1.5 MOA) is too much??

What did Leupold say??

It's my buddies scope....he's gonna call em. I had about the same on a burris FFII about 5 years ago. I called them and they didn't bat an eye.....told me to send it in. They took care of it and I had it back in 7-10days.
We'll see what Leu has to say.
