I am thinking about scoping my taurus raging bull 454.

What I am wondering is what mid grade scope could I put on it that wont end up getting gutted by the recoil?

One in particular I have been looking at is the Burris 2x pistol scope. Would this scope work?

What other scopes would work?

I recommend the Leupold FX-II 2x20.

This is what I have on my S&W 629 .44 mag and I shoot full-house 300 gr. loads with no problem. I would recommend having at least 3 scope rings however.....possibly 4. I have 3 on mine....

Hope this helps.

+1 for the Burris. Burris doesn't advertise their construction but they used to build the toughest scope on the planet at one time. Can't say if they are still building to the same quality.
