These rings/bases came on a Kleinguenther I recently acquired. I've never seen this combination before. I'm hoping someone can identify them so I can look up proper installation. Thanks in advance.

Tiny screws which are so small I had to use an eyeglass screwdriver. Larger holes which the screws in the bases fit to hold rings in the bases.

Top pressure plate in place.

Shows top plate which holds the scope in place by using pressure. It's not actually screwed.

Bases which also show the screws which hold the rings into the bases.

I have a set; they were supposedly "the best". But hard to move the scope when the rings are on it. Sorry, but old brain cannot remember the name and I can't look cause everything is packed for moving.

Yep.....Conetrol rings and bases. One of my favorite brands.

They're made in Seguin, Texas.

Yep Conetrol rings, never forgot them, the pain in my arse still reminds me of fitting these. They were certainly high end very neat rings but useless if wanting to remove the scope as the rings just fall off and needed a complete refit again when putting the scope back on. They were most definitely not QD rings.

Later model rings did have retainer screws which kept the rings attached in one piece to the scope but the scope still needed shooting in again as the adjustment was lost once the base screws were undone to lift the scope and rings free.

They were relatively expensive and just never stacked up against the convenience of most other branded rings.

Eagle, I got the scope mounted but adjusting the cant etc is very difficult. The rings definitely hold the scope tight but are a pain to adjust.

Beautiful rings once mounted properly. It is best to start work on mounting them in late winter so that you will be done with the task in time to sight your rifle for next fall's hunting season.

Both Conetrol and Kleingunther were distributed out of Seguin, Texas. The Kleingunther was made in Austria, if memory serves. The Conetrol was apparently made by some greatly advanced civilization of aliens who each had five hands with eleven fingers on each hand, which essential for mounting a Conetrol ring.
