This seems like a good purchase. In 2003, I bought Swarovski 10x42 EL's which I returned for the 8x32's when I figured out they were easier to carry when hunting. This past weekend we were sage grouse hunting and antelope season had just opened. My buddy had his SLC 8x42's (40's?) and we were discussing how much we liked the 10x42 EL's. I said I'd been considering picking up another pair but that we probably couldn't find them for less than $2000. Well, on the way home we stopped by an outdoor store and I saw some on the counter next to the 8x32's. The 32's were nearly $2k and the 10x42's were $1789. I told them that had to be the wrong price. Ten minutes later, after talking with three different people, they said the price was actually $1600. After verifying the 30 day return policy, I bought them. I verified the serial number with Swarovski so they're real. Apparently, that price is less than wholesale. I see that I can get them used for about $1500 on a few online places but these were brand new with the full US warranty. Good deal? | ||

I just bought a pair of SLC 10X42's for a grand...thought that was a good deal too. My eyes can't see the diff in the EL's vs. SLC's. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ J.
