I have 2 scopes to choose from for installing on a 300 Win Mag. They are a NXS 2.5-10X32 and an SHV 3-10X42. I am soliciting opinions on the better scope for this application. The SHV has parallax adjustment and the NXS does not. But the NXS has a zero stop unlike the SHV. The optics and reticles are both quite satisfactory. I want to use the rifle for longer range hunting so I’m inclined to favor the SHV. But the zero stop would be nice too. Opinions? I’ll put the other one on a 30/06. Personally I don't like parallax adjustment on a hunting rifle. I never found it to make much difference to point of impact, but it is slightly useful to try and read mirage, but of course not nearly as good as a spotting scope, and 10 power is probably not really enough for reading the mirage anyway. So personally (and based only on your post and no knowledge of the other features of these scopes) the NXS would be my choice. | |||
