Hi All,

Bought a 243 last Fall with a 3x9 Black Forest scope on it. Have never heard of one & wanted to know if anybody else has. Looks a lot like a cheap Bushnell model, but is real clear. Have not had time to try it yet. Only web search turned up one on a different used gun. Responses appreciated. Thanks.

Obviously no one seems to know anything which is unusual here.

There are a lot of "private label" scopes out there.

By that I mean there are heaps of manufacturers in Asia that will put out crate of scopes with your name on them if you order a big enough order. Thats how yo get scopes branded with a shops name etc.

If say 1,000 were put out by a shop in market the size of USA they would basically disappear until they surface on a gun like yours.

I am guessing that is what you have but have been known to be wrong.

Are there any markings say where it is made such as Japan? You may need to remove it from the rings to find that.

If it works for you and is reliable it is a good scope!

It does say made in Japan, plus a very smasll marking that I will need magnification to read. I will try thios eweekend to get it. Yes, probably a "shop" scope by a small independent , farmed out in Japan. It appears to be really good optically, as most Japanese scopes even Japanese made Tascos were. I plan to replace it with a Leupold anyway, but will find some use for it on a different rifle.

I will check the marking & report back.
