Made by ATK. Same people that make Weaver scopes.

Thanks RL, I guess that leaves it pretty open as to their quality potential--depeneding on the specs I supposed ATK could make any level of scope......

Made in Japan, praly has good glass.

My guess it's just re-packaged Weaver.

Glass seems really good. One of my litmus tests is to sit at a bench at sunset facing the sun. Shows flare real quick, these scopes are darn good at NOT having that issue-- real bad at least--don't look anything like a weaver as far as tube goes....I'll be interested to see how durable they are....or aren't.....

Sounds like you own one?

I would be interested to hear how it tracks.

I have a 3 x 9 x 40 Nitrex and took it to Africa in May of '08 for 30 days, beat it to death, and it worked just fine. I think it is clearer than a Leupold Var II.

I'd buy another one.

RL, I do own two in fact. A 3x9x42 and a 3x10x50.

I've just started shooting the rigs they ended up on, the 3x10x50 is on a 280 AI, so we'll see how that does, and the 3x9x42 is temporarily on a Savage ML 10 muzzleloader.

I'll post when I have some round count through them.

Didn't ATK just buy Weaver from Meade not too long ago? Are these Nitrex's the same as Intensity optics? I saw somewhere that Intensity was just a rebadged Weaver. I don't know how true that is. I think I saw it on Ebay.
