I just received a set of the lightweights, but the package did not have mounting instructions. Does it matter which way the bases are installed? They are for a 84M and I'm mounting a xari-x 3 2.5x8. I have both bases set with the rings in the centermost position.

I face the ring portion of each one facing towards the muzzle. Should almost be 5" when done this way and I am using the same scope you are.

Thanks. I reversed the front base so I could move the scope further back.The eye position is better for me on higher magnifications with the scope moved back.

Let me know what kind of accuracy you get out of that rifle
