Viva 1" tubes!!! thumb
Now if we could just get Swarovski to make up some 1" tube scopes, using the HD glass as above in fixed 4x and 6x for sale in the US, I personally would be happy.. Big Grin

I wish they would do there Z6 1.7x10 in a straight tube config. I've been on the fence about a nightforce 2.5x10 straight, but there damn reticles are too funky for hunting.

So I take it the PH and AV scopes are history.

Of late, there have been some very attractive offers on NIB, deprecated models (PH, AV etc). Often some of the best buys in town...

A question I must ask here is, since the new 1" tube scopes are coming on line, what is the difference bewteen them and the older AV series? An example is the new 3-9x scope:
#59033 Z3 3-9X36 - 4A - $979.99
#59031 Z3 3-9X36 - PLEX - $979.99
How are these optically compared to the AV 3-9x? I have an AV 3-9x, and a 4-12x. I would like to think that the newer models have better everything, but do they? If they are better, in what way?

Thank you,

Don

I don't know who I'm addressing the question to by name, so if anyone has an answer, I'd be interested in hearing from you. Big Grin

The new Z3, Z5 and the existing 3-9 AV will be cosmetically different, however, optically and functionally they will pretty much be equivilent

So I take it the eyepiece is not spring loaded like the PH series?

It is not spring loaded as with the extra eye relief they felt it was not needed
