Leica Geovid Rebate Extension

As we are one of the largest Leica Sports Optics dealers in the USA we have a very close relationship with Leica, as most of you already know. With this relationship comes the ability to share thoughts with the powers that be at Leica. We have been in discussions with Leica about the 10x42 Geovid . They have not had this popular unit in inventory during the majority of their great rebate offering, which expires at the end of September. A new shipment of these are arriving to Leica any time now and they have graciously offered to extend the $350.00 rebate offer on this one product. I think this is great and shows Leica's commitment to the consumer and to customer service.
We are offering the Leica 10x42 Geovid @ only $1649.99, to the forum members here, before the $350.00 rebate, so your net cost after rebate is only $1299.99. Please make sure you mention this forum when you order in order to get this extra special price.
As always, thank you for your continued support.

Have a great day,
Doug

Not sure I'm clear on this Confused.
The link states "pre-owned" (as in used), 10X42Geovids for $1,499.00. Are you saying you'll sell "NEW" 10X42 Geovids for $1,649.00 less a $350.00 rebate?
Guess I'm just a dumb ole country boy from Montana but your post, that link and those numbers don't all line up for me. I'm sure there is a good explanation for my not getting it.

New ones are $1799.99 to the general public. If your a member here and let us know that then your price is $1649.99. Either way there is a $350.00 after purchase rebate from Leica.
Our site needs to be updated and our web builder is out hunting and returning tomorrow. Feel free to give a call with an order

If that is indeed the case then that is truly an outstanding price on outstanding range-finding binoculars. Great optics and I consider them one of my most prized pieces of hunting equipment.
I guess I've been mislead cause I was told a few years back the the Geovids were a fair market item and the price was set by Leica and had to be adhered to by dealers.
Thanks for the explanation. I'd get on your web folks cause I couldn't even find new and unused Geovids on your site but I'm computer challenged and perhaps that explains it.
Does the fact that they are #40029 and there appears to be a #40039 version have anything to do with it? Is there a difference between the two?
As I talked with another site member about if I had my "own" set my son wouldn't need to be borrowing them any more Big Grin .

I have compared a few of the older high end models and the newer HD, Swaro, Leica. I can not tell a differance. May just be good marketing.

I called Leica directly this morning for info.
You are right to some degree as it was explained to me.
"Yes,these are close out models as the HD line is replacing it (that's why the heavy discounts". Maybe I'm silly but that's the kinda info I'd like to hear in the first couple lines of a sales pitch, not after digging it out of the manufacturer on my own (Call me a nit picker). That said I still think that's a great price on great optics and $50.00 better price for being a board member, can't argue with that!
According to the tech at Leica I spoke with where his statement would disagree a bit with your observation is that according to him the optics "are" better in the HD's but in his words certainly not "night and day" different but better (they are real good to start with). The rangefinding capabilities are little changed in improvements that you could read with the naked eye.

homer Thanks tradewinds. This is the NEW Swarovski EL model. Ok, I didn't pick up on that. I am familiar with the existing EL line.

The Leica deal Doug high-lighted looks pretty good to me. The additional $150.00 discount to AR members is a welcome touch.

I bought the Leica's and a new digital Camera from Doug in June, I think I paid $1900 for the Bino's delivered and then got the rebate of $350. They are great Bino's. Wish I would have waited a couple months!

If you aree much over 40 years old I am not sure you will be able to tell the difference that a calcium flourite objective may offer. They do not necessarly allow the lens to transmit more light. They do correct some color issues. They are certainly a advantage in higher powered spotting scopes. I do believe the new hydrphobic lens coatings most companies are offering are a real advantage for a serious outdoorsman.
I suspect Swar, new EL will have liitle more than what Leica HD's and Zeiss FL's already have and that is the lens coatings and a calcium flourite objective.
I think the non HD Leica GEO is a good deal albeit a bit heavy.
I just had a friend bring some HD Leica's to my office. I am going to compare them to my std. ultravids this evening.
