I had posted this question on the long range hunting forum. I thought I had better ask here as well. . . My question is which reticle? Which would be better suited? Would I like a green illuminated triangle or dot? The scope will be mounted on a Savage Model 10 FCP-SR chambered in 308 Win. I intend to use this rig for long range hunting and 300 yard "F" Class competition. As always your input is appreciated. Rusty We Band of Brothers! Rusty, IMHO, you would probably like the green dot, with fine or mil,dot cross hairs. (For your type of shooting work.) The cross hairs will do fine aiming and the green dot takes over in the twilight. I think the green dots only take up 8/10 mil at 100 meters. Check the specs. The triangles are great for fast and DG work, running game etc. at reasonable ranges. The triangles are harder to center on distant small targets like gophers and prarie dogs. (200-300 yds) If you want a DG scope, go with the triangles. Like a 1-4X Good shooting, Tetonka DRSS | |||
