My thread title is not to be taken seriously.
However, it dawned on me a few months ago that what I had thought
was good optics, turned out to be excellent optics.

I currently own Swaro SLC's. If I had to guess, they are probably 7-8 years old.
I have been well pleased with them and will pass them down to one of my sons.

Now, to the other glass. I was visiting a friend in Texas and he pulled out a pair of
Zeiss Classic binos (they were 10x40 I believe). The clarity was better than any glass I have looked through, better then my SLC's.

I watched Cabelas advertize these for months a few years back. I believe they were $699???
I wish I would have know then how good they were. In all fairness, I didn't test them in low light but I am sure they do well.

Do any of you own a pair? Do you ever see them for sale?

I guess you have googled them already. I am amazed at the things that turn up by changing the permutations of words relating to a topic.
