Hi,
My old Husqvarna M/1640 in 7x64 needs a new scope. For the moment, I have an old Leupold Vari X II 3-9x40 on it, but i would like to have a scope with larger magnification.

The reason; Springbok and Gemsbok hunting in the Kalahari desert.

The two scopes that I am looking at is,

Bushnell 2.5 - 16x42 or 50
Burris Eurodiamond 3-12x50

Which one is the best? Light transmission, mechanical quality etc?

Other option in the same price range $ 600 -700?

Cheers
Mats

The Bushnell Elite 6500 scopes are very nices scope and I would probably recommend one over the Burris. I personally would go with the 42mm objective just to keep the scope lower on the rifle.

Hi Jon,
Thank you for your input.
Compared to Zeiss conquest 4,5-14x44?

Cheers

I personally like the Zeiss Conquest scopes. Optically they are very nice. Slightly better than the Elite 6500 in my opinion.

I just bought a Elite 6500 2.5x16x50MM. I can easily see blades of grass moving at 300 yards.I can focus at 15 feet. What can a Zeiss Conquest do that I can't? I can't recommend the elite 6500 too much. Its "Bad to the Bone"

For the benefit of my fellow Europeans, Jon Jackoviak at www.theopticzone.com WILL take the trouble to get the ridiculous US export permits and he WILL ship to Europe.

He is just being too nice a guy and not taking advantage of a reasonable attempt to get some extra business... so I will help him! Smiler

www.theopticzone.com has good prices too!
