I am looking at a rifle that has a Leupold VARI X111 1.5-5X 20mm with 30mm tube (I think) and Illuminated Reticle.

The scope is of no value or interest to me. So, I am wondering what it might be worth as a way cheaping up the rifle.

Any thoughts are appreciated. I know it would be a good scope to someone, but that someone isn't me.

If it is in nice condition figure 75% to 80% of the cost of a new one at a discount house.

There is not really a good reason to pay more when you can get a new one.
Some scopes hold their value better like the discontinued Leupold fixed 3X, the compact 3X9 and the 7/8" steel tube Leupold Alaskans.
